Backing up your files & documents

As regular readers have come to know, let’s start with some context.

There are all different types of backups, that do slightly different things. This article is focused on backing up the files and documents that live on your computer, server or a shared network storage area like a NAS.

You need to ask yourself – what will I do if I don’t have access to my computer (because it is broken or stolen) to access my files and documents?

If you aren’t in a good place because all of your important work files and documents are only on that one computer, server or NAS – that isn’t great news, and you must do something.

A fully automated and monitored backup solution is quick and easy to set up. This will automatically backup your files and documents to an offsite Cloud storage facility, meaning that if your computer, server or NAS where your files live is no longer working or available, there is a backup copy of all the files that can be downloaded.

This is also great for protecting yourself and your business against Ransomware attacks, which will attempt to lock you out of your files by encrypting them. If this were to happen, you could simply download the files as they were from yesterday and off you go again, no drama, no fuss.

The backup process is monitored, with alerts in place should the backup not be working for some reason, at which point, one of our wonderful team would be in contact to resolve the problem for you. Again, no hassle, no fuss.

It saddens us to say, that most people only think about a backup solution after something has gone wrong and they’ve lost valuable data. Don’t be that person. Put something in place now, that protects you and your business. It is neither complicated nor costly.

You can never have enough computer backups!
