Areas we cover in The Midlands
I think it’s about time we provide an update for 2022 around how we work, the areas we cover and what our thoughts are on providing IT Support nationally.
As we’re based in Redditch Worcestershire, we stick to roughly a maximum of twenty-five miles from Lucid Towers for providing IT Support.
This is simply because, sometimes, you just need to jump in the car and go see a customer to get something resolved. You also might want to meet with them for a discussion (Zoom is all well and good, but physically structured/planned meetings are still better) about plans or potential new business.
We don’t want to be spending lots of time in the car or travelling, hence we still to a twenty-five-mile radius, as this generally we really shouldn’t be travelling more than an hour, and ideally, this is more like thirty minutes at the most.
Whilst we do most of our work remotely, which has increased since the pandemic, there are times when you will always need to attend the site. We’re fans of remote support, and we’ll always exhaust this first before attending site, but when you do need to go and someone, it’s nice to know they’re only a stone’s throw away.
This brings us to an interesting question – should we work nationally? This simple answer is, for anything needing an onsite presence – no. We’re just not interested in doing lots of travelling, it just makes no sense, and is waste of time, money and resources.
Now, that doesn’t mean we might actively market to providing remote support nationally, but there would be a clear understanding and expectation that we wouldn’t attend the site. If our position was just to provide remote support only for Cloud services, like Office 365, then yes, we’d be interested in that. But if you need an onsite presence in Manchester, then that isn’t for us.
The bottom line is, that there is so much work and businesses for us to get involved with locally, in theory, we should never need to work outside of Worcestershire, Warwickshire and Birmingham. These areas alone must have thousands of businesses – more than enough to go around the multiple IT Support businesses covering these areas.
We’d also welcome a discussion about your requirements, no matter where you’re located, if we feel we can’t provide what you need, we’ll tell you so.
