Migrating to Office 365

It’s simple, and it’s easy. No, really. Migrating to Office 365 for services such as email and file sharing is painless. You might be a tiny start-up with just one or two people, or you might be a hundred-person well-established business. 

Either way, moving over to Office 365 is straightforward.

With some careful planning, and clear communication, and accepting a small window of “disruption”, most businesses can move over in no time at all.

The downtime can be kept to a minimum. We prefer calling it “disruption time” rather than downtime, as essentially, there isn’t downtime, only a window when things need to be reconfigured and set up to gain access to the new system.

It can appear to be a faff, maybe even appear to be a headache, but it needn’t be, and rarely is. 

Depending on your current setup, and what your requirements are, there will be different benefits for you and your business migrating over to Office 365. There are always benefits to be had though, that’s the real point.

It might be that you’re getting away from maintaining onsite hardware such as servers, or that you’re upgrading to the more sophisticated Office 365 from a basic product. These are both great reasons to move to Office 365.

Yes, there are of course other similar solutions out there. But, we really like Office 365 for its flexibility, powerful products, and overall general ease of use for both people directly using it, and for us as a support company maintaining it.

If you’re hesitant about moving over to a new system, firstly, we understand. A big change to how you’re working has an impact on your business. Overall though, the impact will be positive, resulting in increased productivity, improved computer and IT reliability and the experience for people going about their day to day duties is one which is more fulfilled.

Managing such a project is the key here, ensuring everyone is clear about what will take place and when. If the communication side of things is delivered well, then the technical side of such a project becomes very easy to carry out.

So, in short, don’t be worried or hugely concerned about the implications of moving to Office 365, in the right hands, it will be smoothly delivered.
