Lenovo IdeaCentre AIO 3i 27″

This is one for the home workers. We’ve taken a look at the Lenovo IdeaCentre AIO 3i 27″, which is a decent All-in-One computer (so the screen is also the computer itself, so you just need a power lead in it, and that’s it).

Spec-wise, it sports an i3 Processor, 8GB of RAM and 256GB SSD drive. Whilst the processor is one of the lower Intel i Series offerings, for most home workers using the Internet and doing some work with Microsoft Office, this will be perfectly fine. Will it do CAD? No. Will it play high-end games? No. It’s not for that. This is for productivity and casual Internet use.

We picked this up as part of a ‘Curry’s Epic Deal’, for £409. At this price, it’s fair to say it’s very good value. It also has a built-in webcam which hides ‘inside’ the screen and pops out when you want to use it – great for Zoom, Teams and all those other video meeting applications. Please don’t have a meeting about the meeting next week though. 

The 27” screen gives you a good amount of screen real estate. The resolution is full HD – ideally, for us, it would be a higher resolution, but for £409, that’s an unfair criticism. A 27” unit is a good size, without being overpowering or taking up too much space, ideal for home workers where you may not have that much room at home.

An important point for businesses – if you require a Professional version of Windows, this computer does not come with that. It comes with a Home version of Windows, which is Windows 10. You can upgrade easily to Windows 11, but it will still be the Home version. If you need a Professional version, you will need to purchase that separately.

The Lenovo brand is good, we use plenty of their computers, without any major problems. It’s a brand you can trust to be solid, reliable and proven.

Overall, this is a computer which we’d be happy to use ourselves, so much so, we are actually using it within our business for home working, we have no problem recommending this computer.
